Yep, that was Dirt Dog. Last I heard, the PowerWheels Jeep was bigger than his!

On the PBB there was a thread a couple of months ago about modifying Powerwheels.

I tried the search too, but couldn't find anything either, I want to say that the timeframe of the thread was around Labor Day, it may have gone into the thread cemetary You might be able to get MattS to pull it for you.

I'd be interested as well. My son has a Peg Perego Jeep and sheared the front left wheel off. While I've got it apart I'd sure be interested in tweaking it a bit.

Ya I thought it was him . The problem with them is the low power due to insufficient battery and the traction !! I know he had pics of what he did to the wheels and stuff and my search turned up nothing either . As much I hate to , I`ll check out the Pirates BBS and see what the write up is all about . Thats the main vocabulary of my 2 1/2 year old Grandson , Jeep , Jeep , Jeep , Jeep , which is all my fault

Re: OT - Who Here Fixed Up the Toy Jeep for thier Kid

for traction Ive been thinking of a bunch of stainless sheetmetal screw ( with the large head) screwed into the wheels?

it might just rip them off if it hooks up, maybe some JBweld under them, or

how about clean the wheels really well, and epoxy some paddles on them..hehe sand tires.

For traction, why don't you take an old tire inner tube, cut it so that you can fit it around the big plastic tire, that should help out alot,....no lugs, but a better gripping surface.

Re: OT - Who Here Fixed Up the Toy Jeep for thier Kid

Yup it was me.
Traction mods:
Rear tires have 5/16"(head) self drillers screwed in a faux bogger type of pattern. For the front I have a single row down the middle to help it steer.
Bigger/better meats mean you need MORE POWER.
HUGE power increase was done with the addition a jumper box 12v sealed battery. It's small, lasts 3 time as long as the original one, can be charged in an hr with my regular battery charger, and THEY RIP.
Thats really all I have done to this one. The last one had some tranny issues that took me a little to get worked out, but this one has been fine.(musta beefed it)
