OT-Limited/Locker for a Willy\'s Pickup? Source?
My father is looking at a Willy's pickup currently. He asked me if he could get a locker or limited slip for each end. I looked around, but couldn't find anything for the stock drivetrain. Does anyone know if they are available. The front is a Dana 25, and the rear is a weird Timiken. I'm trying to convince him to go Ford/Chevy/Dana instead, but he's thinking about driveable "original" restoration....
Re: OT-Limited/Locker for a Willy\'s Pickup? Source?
The only possibilities for the front 25 is a lock-rite or one of the rare Powerlocks (no longer made). Nothing is made for
the old Timken rear axle. Only thing you can do with that is weld it up. They actually are quite strong, just an oddball.
I had a welded one in my '47 Willy's race truck and it survived behind a 455 Olds Rocket. I'd recommend changing axles. Narrow
track Wagoneer 44 front will work with some minor work. nickmil
