Reluctor/trigger wheel removal tool????????

Where can I get one of these? The parts stores near me don't know WTF I'm talking about. I don't want to do the two screwdriver thing if I can help it.

I searched Snap On and a few other sites, no tool. What about a very small gear puller? You could probably make a tool based off a gear puller with some scrap steel and a bolt.

Re: Reluctor/trigger wheel removal tool????????

I just did mine today and used a steering wheel puller and some nylon wire ties. I used the wire ties to loop around the trigger wheel and then loop to the puller body. It worked like a champ!

I was having too much mechanical advance and wanted to see if everything was still in place below the plate. Just my luck everything looked O.K., but I noticed where I was supposed to have a heavy spring, I had a medium one. I have looked every where and cant find one. I know TEAMRUSH posted that he had some but where did he get them?

I am thinking of just shortening the spring and seeing what that does.

The advance spring kit is Mr. gasket part # 925D. They say they are for a 5.0 mustag but are the correct kit for all motercraft distributers.

Re: Reluctor/trigger wheel removal tool????????

i made a tool out of a pc. of 3/4 x3/16 bar, drilled a hole, welded a nut over it, ran a bolt thru nut, looped zipties over bar, voila-free puller.
