Help me find some axles!!

Hey folks...long time no post.

After a couple of weekends of carnage on my 88 YJ, I am ready to move up a bit. I don't do anything really extreme and know my vehicles limits pretty well. After upgrading my rear to a super 35 with a confer axle truss, the 34" TSL's haven't been to inhospitable to the D35. The front has spit out the little 260 u-joints and I have upgraded to 95 YJ shafts in the D30 w/ 297 series joints, but now I have bent the housing (not really sure how it happened).

I was considering D44's front and rear. I know FSJ's had the right combo (chunk centered in rear, chunk on the left up front) , just don't know what years. Any info will be appreciated.

Does anyone have any complete axles laying around they want to sell? I know some of you guys had D44 fronts and went to D60's.

Hank

Re: Help me find some axles!!

Get a ford 8.8 for the rear and a 44 for the front.

Get the 8.8 from a recked explorer or new form the guy in OK. The explorer have 31spline shafts, and disc brakes, also 5/8 shorter on each side so almost the same width as your stock axle...

Some of them have LSD and 4.10 already too...

Good luck... sorry no d44 here I have an 8.8 new never used but I think it's sold... (supposed money on the way)

Hank,

Here is a link to a 44 front and I think it is in GA.

Hank,
Are you still looking? I think I might know where you can get a front. Let me know and I'll get back to you.

Re: Help me find some axles!!

If you find the right u-pull it waggy d44's can be had for real cheep though pretty much every waggy axle will have gear ratios you'll want to swap out. I would try putting that d35 on e-bay to see if some one would take it off your hands since people will buy almost anything off there.
