CJ 2.5\" springs with possible 1\" shackle......

Here's my question. I'm about to do an axle swap to go to widetracks and 4.10's. I currently have 2.5" springs and a set of 1" lift shackles. The 1" shackle lift is not installed. I want to run 33's and was thinking of using the 1" shackles untill I do a tub swap. When I do the tub swap, I will install a 1" body lift and go back to stock shackles. My question is what kind of problems will the shackle lift cause? I am not using a drop pitman arm and the transfer case is not lowered.

I think that as long as you don't get carried away w/ a shackle lift you will be ok. I have one on my CJ w/ a 3.5" spring lift and I haven't had any problems. I did flip my steering linkage up ontop of the knuckles so I didn't have to use a dropped pitman arm.

I run 2.5" springs with .5" shackles and no problems. No t-case lowering, stock driveshafts, etc. I do have longer brake hoses though. I don't think another half inch of shackle will make much difference.
