Leaky Gaskets, Fuel related

I've got a leak on my Weber at the top of the float bowl. Thought that maybe after getting wet with fuel, the gasket would swell and close up, but not so. It's a little annoying seeing that it's brand new. I should have put some sealer on it but didn't think I had to. Anyone else have a problem with this?

Also, I degreased the engine and have noticed a couple of leaks, one being around the fuel pump (which was a bit unexpected). Anyway, I'm going to replace the pump and gasket and wondered what a fuel pump strainer is? Auto Zone states that I need to replace it to get the LLT on the Fuel Pump. Yet they don't offer the strainer. ?
