Loose Dana 300 front output yoke

Loose Dana 300 front output yoke

Has anybody had this problem before? You can grab the front drive shaft and watch the output yoke move up and down about 1/8’’. I am hoping it’s just a loose nut at the yoke. If its not, and it a bad bearing, is this hard to replace w/o removing the t-case? I am experiencing a loose ‘clunking’ sound and feel through my feet only over bumps at a 5 to 30 mph speed.

Thanks,

Up and down is the wrong direction for the yoke to be moving.

If you have a bearing that is worn to that extent I would think you are going to want to rebuild that sucker. Not a bad time to throw in a 4:1 kit either. It is really not that hard to do.
