My 1990 Wrangler had a vacuum motor to uncouple the front axel during 2WD operation. It appears that my 1997 Wrangler TJ does not have this feature. Does anyone know why Jeep dropped the axel disconnect feature for the TJ? Does anyone know of a way to have a low range in 2WD on a TJ?
I don't know why Jeep dropped the disconnect, but it was a good move. Those things were the biggest P.O.S. I'd ever seen.
There is a kit to enable 2WD lowrange, but I can't remember who makes it. A little later a friend should arrive at work and he has
