Screw HONDA!!! I\'m getting [another] JEEP!

Well folks, after getting my 2000 Honda Accord V6 back from service yesterday with the explanation that it is once again "totally within spec". Funny, but the service tech is back to blaming the torque converter, despite the fact that the regional service manager is POSITIVE it's "lean-surge"... Smells like BS all the way.

I'm selling this POS hooptie-transmission having rolling headache. Been dealing with it and Honda America's crap since July, and I'm done.

Honda has lost a lifetime customer, I currently own 2 Accords, and owned two Civics. Never again if this is how they treat loyal customers. I'll be giving some $'s to our hard working folks from Toledo now, thank you very much.

To top it off 0.0% financing makes it CHEAPER to own/drive a JEEP ANYways!

I go to pick up the new TJ this evening after work.

Before anybody asks, YES, I am KEEPING the CJ. The TJ will be a DD/light duty at least until it's paid off. Until then it will just have to be happy with delusions of adequacy.

It was funny though, a sales man called me between work/home:
Sales Dweeb: the line we have is terrible.
Me: it's because I am in my Jeep on the freeway.
Sales Dweeb: You haven't already bought one, have you?!?!?.
Me: Nope, not yet....
Sales Dweeb: So how much are you looking to get out of your old Jeep in trade?
Me: Mister, this Jeep isn't for sale or trade, it's family, and even if it was I wouldn't sell it to you...

Herb, I feel the same way - that's why my 2002 Silverado is going up for sale. Been into the dealership a few times for burning oil. They tried a couple of cheap fixes but it still didn't solve the problem and they won't break the seal if I can't document being more than 2 freaking quarts low every oil change
My next move is drive the 1995 Grand Prix (a more dependable vehicle) back and forth to work and buy my co-workers CJ7 for some off road fun. It's pretty pathetic when you spend at least $20K now a days for a decent car or truck - and the ones driving around with 100K+ miles are more dependable!

That stinks, but I like your attitude with the salesdude.

I really don't know what car i'd want to get as a Daily driver, I can't wait to get rid of the Explorer that I have now, i can't come up with anything that would be a TJ for a daily driver.

FYI on honda auto trannys

FYI- I believe they just extended the warranty retroactively on transmissions on those Accords in response to the problems they were having, apparently in an attempt to appease those having problems with them, like yourself. At least if it needs repair or replacement you shouldn't be paying anything for it.

Re: Screw HONDA!!! I\'m getting [another] JEEP!

It always does my hart good to hear that one more person has had it with the products from Japan. Didn't there use to be a bumper sticker that read "Unemployed? Hungry? Then eat your Japanese Car!" I know that some of them are assembled here but where do you think the profits go!

I will get off my soap box now. Thanks for allowing me to vent.
