AMC 360 Swap

Hello gang
I have ran into another little problem. Last night i went to attach my flex plate to the torque converter (TF999) and the first two bolts when in fine but the other two do not line up. I bought by flexplate from 4wd and they told me it would work fine, it is for a TF trans.

Thanks
JT

Re: AMC 360 Swap

The flex plate for a Torqueflite has one bolt that is off pattern. Meaning not concentric with the other three. This is so a torque convertor on an externaly balanced engine doesen't get installed out of phase. The balance weights are on the convertor for a TF instead of on the flex plate like GM transmissions. The convertor should line up only one way on the flex plate. Hope this helps!
