Interesting article - old 4WDs demand $$$$$$

A friend e-mailed this to me today, thought it was interesting. I particularly liked the part about the solid axle/leaf spring rough ride....

Rough riding, bad gas milage, lots of repair costs.....they couldn't be talking about my Jeep could they? Oh wait, they are!!! I was arguing with a friend the other day that CJ's are classic American vehicles. He wouldn't agree to that, maybe this article will change his mind.

Maybe my '77 Chev'lay might even be worth something someday, that is if the Utah salt doesn't rot it into a pile of scaley brown rust flakes

"third world vehicle" "that weren't meant to last"

What? ALmost every car made today has less chance of survining half as long as a well maintained CJ, YJ or any Jeep for that matter!!!

I did like the part about "a spot on the Wagonner frame". Just one? Not bad!

Great. Gentrification has moved on to Jeeps, I see. In a few years, good luck finding a good deal on one...

the only time I look at a waggy is to see if it has some axles I can gank.

I knew I shouldn't have gotten rid of my mint '72 Wagoneer! That truck was awesome! Go anywhere, do anything, climb anything! With the 360, headers, dual Thrush exhaust, tranny cooler, and "modified" fenders to fit 32's, it had enough power, stamina, and flex for serious off-road use.

I am going to get a Waggoner TODAY after work. (Man I hope the guy hasn't sold it) (I also hope he hasn't seen this artical. As long as the thing runs when I get there, and the trans is OK, it will be mine by 6pm. And at 6:15 Pm I will use it to go on a Beer run and celabrate. (after I get home and put all my keys in the key cup for the night of course !
