2,3,or 4 row radiator

HI

I am trying to get some information on what the difference is between a 2,3, and a 4 core radiator. I have a 1980 CJ5 with a 4.3l chevy, 4 spd, and 35" tires. I do alot of travelling and some wheeling here and there. I have checked mepco4x4. I found that they have gm radiators for gm engine equiped cjs, they say it bolts right in and the prices are just right for my pocket. I will be swaping a 4.3l vortech and a th350 in the jeep soon. The jeep still needs the radiator right now for the set up I am currently running. What I am trying to do is get a radiator for the 4.3l w/ manual tranny that is in my jeep now and not have change that radiator when I do the 4.3l vortech and th350. Should I get a 2,3, or 4 row radiator for the long distant driving that I will be doing and that would work with my soon to come swap. THANX DAN

I would think that your current rad should work fine, add a large trans oil cooler and go for it.

Get the biggest radiator you can with 3 or 4 rows and be done with it.
