Ring/pinion and diff swap..

I may have found a 1993 YJ 4 cyl that is going to be sold parts by parts. Do you know if it has the same axle as my 1989 YJ 258??? I want to take all the diff and ring and pinion to swap them in my axle to make them 4.10 which will help me a lot (i may even put in in 5th gear if i do it!!!) .I know they are d30 and d35 but maybe there is a little difference that only axle guru know!!!
Thanx a lot

I think is 93 they switched to a clip axle, your 89 will not have c-clips. If the gears and bearings still look good just change out the entire rears. But if the bearings are tired then just have the ring and pinion set up in your rears.

Yep, they went to the C-clip in the '91/'92 model year, so the '93 definitely has it. Not a problem though, just swap the whole axle. If you are going to break the C-clip, then the whole D35 will probably blow up as well. Most people don't like it just because of the design, but how many actually break?
