Blazer heater motor upgrade for YJ\'s too?

Will a YJ benefit from the switch to a blazer heater fan or does the YJ (year 88 in my case) already have a more powerfull fan motor? I was told that YJ's (what year starting) have a more powerfull fan motor. I plan to use a fiberglass CJ windshield frame after considering the options and wanting to keep a CJ dash.

From my limited YJ experience (admittedly limited). They already have a better fan than the anemic CJ blowers. Not sure if it's on par with the blazer or not, but YJ's are pretty good.

A friend just swapped the Blazer blower into his Wrangler. He claims that it works better than the stock one.

I remember reading a writeup on the internet about the upgrade and supposedly the replacement motor for the wrangler is the same part number as the chevy upgrade, don't know if that's correct but my buddies 95 wrangler blows pretty hard.

Re: Blazer heater motor upgrade for YJ\'s too?

According to a local jeep guru, he orders a Wranger blower motor (year of YJ unknown to me) instead because he says there is some advantage in the install for him. I notice that on my Cj there is that connector for the blower motor on the firewall. Mine corroded the end right off the wire. Wranger setup??? The 88 YJ tub I got to swap onto my cj frame has the complete heater assembly and all but the actual dash is there. Just wondering whether to leave the wranger motor in there or do the Blazer upgrade.

Nope, different PN. My friend who installed it had to cut the hole just like a CJ for the larger Blazer motor.
