4.0 swap - what clutch?

What clutch do I need to use for a 4.0 swap in a '80 CJ7 with a T176 tranny. What about the pilot bushing?

Should be able to keep the clutch you've got. I think you can keep the bushing too but don't quote me on that one.

You mean there are parts that I don't have to buy? Wow, who'd have thunk that. That's really good news. And no, I won't quote you on it.

Re: 4.0 swap - what clutch?

When I installed a 1990 4.0l from a XJ with an auto trans in my '82, I needed a different pilot bushing. FWIW Parts Mike said there are 2 possible OD's for the bushing, I can't remember the size of mine but I bought it from PM. As far as the clutch, I used the same one, but I have a t-18 conversion.

you'll need a new pilot bushing that will mate the T-176 to 4.0L, Advanced Adapters sells it
