Daimler Chrysler Warranty

I have a new Wrangler which I plan to lift 4" and add 33" tires in thevery immediate future. Does anyone have any experience going after warranty claims with such obvious modifications to the vehicle. I dont expect them to warranty the suspension but would still want coverage on my engine/trans etc.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Re: Daimler Chrysler Warranty

Knowing Chrysler... I'd say they won't warranty any drivetrain because 33's obviously add extra stresses..

A friend of mine with a lowerd VW Gulf tried to warrenty his heated seats and CD player they wouldn't do it because he had stiffer suspention and said the vibrations had destroyed the two..

I suppose it's up to the dealer in the end/

Re: Daimler Chrysler Warranty

It is up to the dealer.

They will say the larger tires and suspension affected the rest of the drivetrain, and they'd be correct. Some will warranty it, and some won't. I'd check with your local dealership first and see what they say. If the manager (NEVER talk to anyone else, they have no authority to make decisions) says "OK", then GET IT IN WRITING so he can't retract his statement later. If he's not willing to put it in writing, then he's a LIAR and I wouldn't trust him.
