CJ - wiper fuse keeps blowing

I can run my wipers on the low setting but when I turn them up the fuse blows?? I replace the switch and it still does the same thing? I have a 20amp fuse in it thats right I think? Any ideas?

Thanks

Inspect , clean, and lube the linkage. If the linkage binds it will overload the motor. You will notice a big improvement. Also inspect your electrical connections for dirt and corrosion.

Fold down the windshield and check the wire insulation where it goes through the hole at the top of the dash.

Re: CJ - wiper fuse keeps blowing

what do you lube the linkage with? I've checked all the wiring and it looks ok ... I thing there may be a short in the wiper motor.

Thanks

Re: CJ - wiper fuse keeps blowing

I lubed the linkage with a teflon based grease. Put the grease on any part that moves or has contact with another part. In order to check your wiper motor you could disconect the linkage and let the shaft turn.
