Need AC outlet

I am looking for an AC outlet that I can mount under my dash like the 12V outlet I have circled in the below photo. I need this so I can permanently mount my power inverter.

Re: Need AC outlet

My guess is that you might have to build it yourself. I've never seen anything like that for 120 Volt AC. Grainger has several single receptacles. I think that they're designed to fit in a standard 4" box, but you can trim the mount to fit. You can also cut down a standard weatherproof cover to fit whatever box you can find. Put it all in an appropriate Budd box.

Is there something wrong with mounting a regular duplex receptacle in a 2X4 box with a regular weatherproof cover?

Re: Need AC outlet

My vote is to get the parts you need form a hardware store.

Get a standard outlet box (they have a name, but I can't think of it), an outdoor recepticle plug (with cover), and a faceplate (or fab one). This way, you can mount the outdoor plug plus your 12 volt plug in the box, and have a nice clean installation, plus will cost you about $5

Mission accomplished!

Not quite straight but it works and I like it.

See where some punk ripped off my radio! I would like to catch one of these punks just once!
