Vacuum Diagram \'80 258?

I found, "A Primer on the Jeep 258 with Carter BBD & Pulse Air Emission System", but this is does not apply to the '80 258.

Does anyone have another source for the complete vacuum diagram for a 1980 258ci for my CJ-7?

Re: Vacuum Diagram \'80 258?

I don't know what RickB may have done for you but I have a 1980 Jeep Service Manual and can copy a page and put it in the mail for you.
Now the problem is that there are maybe 10 choices in the manual.
Here are the questions to determine which schematic:
1. 49 state or California vehicle (original registration)
2. Standard trans or Automatic
3. Standard cooling or heavy duty.
once we narrow it down I can pick the one or two closest and send them to you.
Let me know. John

I offered the same as you, just I can't do it until next week. If you can do it sooner, go for it. I also have the 1980 FSM . I just asked for his mailing address in the PM.

Re: Vacuum Diagram \'80 258?

Thanks John. RickB offered to mail it to me. I'm checking to see if I've got all my vacuum lines going to the right locations. I've got another post out right now about the rough idle I'm experiencing and I'm checking to see if this is part of the problem.

Thanks again.

'80 258, standard 4 spd, 49 state, standard cooling.

Re: Vacuum Diagram \'80 258?

I forget where this diagram originated, but it's what I followed to hook up my lines. I have a Franken-CJ with an '81-ish 258 and it worked out OK. The diagram appears to be from the "Primer" article you mentioned, but with everything not applicable to the earlier models erased.

Just curious. On the Carb pic from above, what does the "M", "E", and "S" stand for?

Thanks.
