36 Willies that my dad is lookin\' at

Hey guys. I'm hoping that you guys can help me with a Willies question. My dad is looking into purchasing an original Willies with no mods. He says that it is in good working order and has been maintained well. The seller wants $3,600 for the jeep. The only thing that looks to have been redone is the paint and there is no visable rust. Dad wants this to be his main trail vehicle. Is this a good price? Any help would be greatly apreciated. NORM

Jeep didn't start making them until 1940 (MA), and didn't go into production until 1941 (MB), and the CJ lineup didn't debut until 1945. Try to find out which one it is, unless it's a Willys car, like previously mentioned, where were around before the Jeeps.

Re: 36 Willies that my dad is lookin\' at

He probably meant '46 then. He told me that it was close to the first year that they offered a CJ to the public. He said that the lil flathead 4 chugs along good though. If it is in as good of condition as he says is it worth wheelin? or should he restore it for shows? lol I'd be taking my Dad all the places I wheel. I have a fullsize bronco which I'm building piece by piece for offroad use. So far I've a 4" Rancho suspension up front, a reverse shackle flip in the rear using F250 hangers, Detroit Locker, 33x12.50s, and soon there will be 4.56 gears. It is my offroad camper which I cram full of gear everytime I go out. Take Care and thanx for the help. NORM
