to much rain

With so much rain here in Fla, I have an idea for Jeep owners without doors, we need another set windshield wipers on the inside. Just joking.

Re: to much rain

You mean like this??

It's been a few years, but I have since added one on the passenger side (and the jeep's been painted ONE color). They work great, and I always get questions about them. For a simple item, it sure gets a lot of attention.

Re: to much rain

That is a great Idea, and when ever it rains I find myself wanting those. I would like to know how you did it also.

Re: to much rain

I drove through the Columbia Gorge (between Orgon and Washington along the Columbia River) in a snow storm once in a 72 CJ5. It was snowing inside the jeep (soft top on) all most as hard as it was outside. Had to keep the snow scraper handy to keep the frost off the inside of the window.

Good Luck!

Re: to much rain

It's amazing what a good BS session and some spare parts will lead to!! I just had some extra of the wiper "thingys" that mount in the windshield. Grinded off the flange that holds the thing together. Pulled out the HEAD and the SHAFT of the pivot, and had a buddy of mine weld it to the back of another one. Then I drilled a hole in the grommet of the windshield frame. Cut a slit to the short side and put it in. Really, it's quite simple.

The passenger side is basically the same, but connecting the "pushrod" from the first wiper is a little tricky.

My buddy that did the welding, constantly gives me crap about them, but we're laughing the whole time. It's just a stoopid idea that I liked. And it works great, specially on LONG WET drives. Last year coming thru Atlanta from Tenn, I spent about 5 hours, taking on water. No problem. But people do look, and laugh!! One guy at a gas station asked me how I kept them syncronized!!! HA HA!!

Re: to much rain

I hate you. We are in the second year of a drought, and currently one of my dug wells has 1' of water in it, the other is dry. Last year we went 2 months without any well water. I hope it rains here soon.
