Is my Jeep worh $7K?

Since there has been a topic about used Jeep prices I might ask too. I have recently been offered $6,000 by my friends father-in-law, but I told him no less then $7,000. I was planning on putting it on ebay in the spring starting at 7 with no reserve and put a buy it now at $8,500. What do you think? Here are the specs:
1980 Jeep CJ-7
2.5L Iron Duke
custom AGR power steering box and pump install replacing the orgional manual steering
Sm-420 transmission, custom swap with the transfercase rotated flat
CV drive shaft in the rear
swaped in widetrac Dana 30 and AMC 20 with 4.56s and lockrights
Custom full roll cage front and back seats
2.5in rancho lift with daystar 1in body lift, TJ flares in the rear
35in Goodyear MT/Rs
flat fender look in the front
wet okole seat covers
Tuffy with a cheep cd player

I was hoping to get at least $7,000 out of it but i dont know. thanks

Re: Is my Jeep worh $7K?

Got any pics? Sounds like it might get 5k on ebay if you were lucky. For a cj to get that much it is usually prefect looking with no rust and lots of new quality parts. The 4 banger will be a major turn off for some bidders. Some e-bay advice start the auction real low (like 2000) and then set the reserve at what you want to get for it (8500?) and write that you might consider selling to the highest bidder if the reserve isn't met. That buy it now thing seems kinda stupid since you have the potential to get more than that for your rig. Also fix all the minor little problems that would scare bidders away, if they don't require that much then fix them instead of telling the bidder about it.

That's a heck of a good deal he's offering you, I doubt you could get that much for it on Ebay. If it were me I'd take it. Now if it had a healthy TPI 350 in there it'd be a different matter, but then the AMC 20 and D30 would be a turn off as well. I'd sell it in a second for $6K.
