Gears... what brand?

What brand of gears is everyone using?

I am looking to pickup 2 sets of 4.88's and am looking for TOP QUALITY.... so I thought I`d see what everyone else runs..

Thanks

Re: Gears... what brand?

I think spicer is one of the best brands. I have had no problems. Mike

Re: Gears... what brand?

Spicer by far if going into spicer axles. Drivetrain direct had the best prices 2-3 months ago when i was purchasing new gears.

Re: Gears... what brand?

If its a dana/spicer rear then use dana/spicer gears. Setup will be much easier and the strength of dana gears cant be beat. Try to stay away from those life time gears. There junk, plus they dont pay for setup a second time. Also stay far far away from richmond. They just like to explode. Also if you can get the pro series or the top of the line series from the gear manu. Spend the few extra bucks and get them.

Re: Gears... what brand?

Some gear manufactors have a normal everyday gear and a better, stronger, matched set, gear. You may pay a few bucks more but its worth it have the stronger gear set.
