360 swap wiring question

I'm slowly collecting parts for swapping a 360 into my YJ and I think I'm almost ready. The YJ is an 87 so it has the ford ignition, that means that all of the connectors should plug right up right? What wires will I need to splice to get rid of the computer and which one can be trashed all together? I know I'll have to splice the orange and purple wires from the distributor to the ignition module, is there anything else?
Thanks,
Jason

The nutter bypass should work for yours.

Yes, that is what I thought. Once the nutter wiring is done is it possible to remove the computer completely? Is it connected to anything that I still need or can it just be ripped out?

Re: 360 swap wiring question

once you bypass the 2 ignition wires (the nutter bypass) you can cut that whole cluster of wires at the firewall. Then you can toss the computer and clean up the rest of the harness. I did this when I switched my 258 to a 360. although mine was an 88 so I had to get a new starter and solenoid ford style. Mike

Re: 360 swap wiring question

Thanks alot, that's what I thought but I wanted some confirmation. I'm going to have lots more questions for ya since you're one of only a handful to have done this swap in a yj. I saw the new pics you put up on your site of the motor mounts. They are pretty helpfull. It looks like you cut off the back of the mount and then welded it to the plate. Is that true or did you just weld the whole mount to the plate?
