360 v8 swap

I have a 1985 cj7 with 258 6 cylinder 4 speed, and I was wandering if a 360 amc v8 would bolt up to my 4 speed, and if I need to change my motor mounts and can I use my flywheel and clutch off of my 258 or use the flywheel and clutch off the 360.Any clearance problems and etc.

Re: 360 v8 swap

Bell housing and clutch components will work but you will need a 360 flywheel, V8 motor mounts, and all brackets, distributor, module, and accessories from the 360. You will also need a 360 throttle cable, new exhaust, and possibly a larger radiator and fan.
Your fuel line will be on the wrong side of the engine so you will have to do something to get fuel to the driverís side of the 360.
Ok, what did i forget?

You forgot to mention the how much better the 360 is and is well worth the hassles. Go to the jeepster area and search the topic. I think it has been covered fairly well there.
