Seats and mounts

Will 76-up seats mount to 75-down brackets without too much trouble? Or would I be better off trying to find a set of OEM seats and recovering them? My Jeep currently has a set of some kind of buckets (appear to be out of a 1970's Japanese sports car) that don't even come close to fitting properly, have hideous upholstery, and are just really ugly. After an exhaustive search, I've found that nobody still markets a direct replacement seat, and the Bestop low-back is as close as I'm going to get to original, but they say it's for late models only Can I make it fit?

Well, you can make anything fit. If they aren't a direct bolt in, you will have to weld some tabs on the seat frame or drill some holes in the floor. It just depends on your definition of too much trouble.

Before you do that, you might want to put up a post titled "Need seats for a '75 or older." Somebody probably has some sitting around that you could get cheap and reupholster.
