3 vs. 6 cylender

Ok my friend told me that a 3 cylender has a better rear axel gearing and uses less fuel. But it has less power for off roading...correct? Whats better if i wana put 31 inch wheels on and go off-roading like in mud, rocks, and that sort?

Re: 3 vs. 6 cylender

Get a rear axle from a 4 cyl and bolt it in place of the 6 cyl's rear axle. Simple as that!

Re: 3 vs. 6 cylender

usually weaker motors have numerically higher gear ratios that strong motors, but if you are worried about gas milage the actual difference in stock form isnt very much, BUT once you lift it and all that the 4 cylinder will have a greater drop in gas milage than the 6 cylinder
