VIN on frame??

Hey all you experienced Jeepers. Are there two VIN locations on my CJ5? I know one is on the tub under the hood. Would there be another stamped in the frame? If so where would it be located?

Re: VIN on frame??

I don't know about yours, but on my 58 CJ5, it was on the passenger side near the motor mount. At least that's what I remember, it's been 6 years since I owned that one, my memory's not as good these days. lol

Re: VIN on frame??

I searched my '79 very rusty and perforated bare frame on the ground for 20 minuites and couldn't find anything that remotely looked like a number.

Re: VIN on frame??

In '78 it was on top of the frame tube over the right rear axel. A prime place to succumb to rust.

Re: VIN on frame??

Jim_Lou is right... Thats where I found mine on my Scrambler after looking all over the jeep for two days. It was a little rusty so get a brillo pad and a hose. It's right on top of the frame rail between the tub and frame. Just enough room for your fingers unless you have a body lift. What year is your jeep????
