Thanks go to TeamRush and the Search Function!
I was having trouble with my Carb. It was a old carter that I rebuilt. I decided to trash it and go for a new carb. I searched the bbs and decided to go with a Holley. I found a couple of set of instructions that TR posted a while back that described how to tune how to tune the Holley. I bought some Holley sight plugs for the float bowls and went to work. I used the search to find discussions on dieseling and run on. Between both sets of searches I was able to get this thing dailed in. Right now it's running like a raped ape. I used a 600 cfmHolly off the shelf from Advance Auto on a 1980 AMC 360. It's running a R4B Edelbrock intake. The only changes I made to the carb were to set the floats, adjust both idle settings (fast and curb), adjust the idle mixture screws and move the electric choke to open sooner. I haven't had to change any of the springs, pumps, jets or the settings on the vacumn secondaries.
It took a few different searches using a variety of words to locate this information. This search function is no different than the card catalog at the library. You've got to start looking in the catalog and follow the trail where it leads.
