If you have an \'84 CJ7 w /258 I need your help.

I have been trying to locate my temp sending unit for the past couple of weeks. I have gotten lots of advice from people on the board with 'similar' engines and models but nothing matches mine. I assume mine is stock but cannot be sure. I have tried to trace the wire with no luck. I am hoping that the exact year/model will yield the results I need.

I know the sender is connected via a purple wire. But exactly where on the engine is it located.

I would greatly appreciate the help.

I have since put a few motors in my jeep, not 258's but if I remember right. It was on the driver side on the intake manifold somewhere.

On my 84 CJ-7 with 258 it is on the rear of the intake manifold. It's a little brass fitting with a "snap" thing on top to "snap" the wire into.

Dan,

Thanks, that's it. I couldn't find it as it was covered in oil (valve cover leak), and had no wire on it. It looked like a skinny no-purpose bolt. I have been going crazy looking all over the engine compartment. I am not surprised I missed it.

Thanks much

Some of us on here have the factory service manuals as well and can help with just about anything. All you need do is ask.
