Would there be any usable parts here?

Hey fellas I was just told about two old military dodge trucks with poor bodies, that a friend has sitting on his property. He said they had flat head straight six motors in them and huge dif's said he did not know much about them as they were there when he bought the property. I have been looking at a flat fender, and am trying to find some build up parts just from the description any Idea of what parts may come off of these trucks? I am going to see them next week.

He is a mechanic, and he said the diff's looked like they could go in a dump truck.

Re: Would there be any usable parts here?

i am going to guess they are going to be M37's. I think the rears are dodge rears. The old third member removable rears. The front will be a closed knuckle if they are m37's. The other option could be, they may be powerwagons. If they are powerwagons then the rear long side axle is gold. See if you can get a pic of the trucks.

If they're old then others may want to buy them outright, and whole. Try to find out what they are.

Re: Would there be any usable parts here?

You mean that they have 2 1/2 ton axles. Those are a pretty good find I would say. Even better find if you have 4 of them, two front, two rear. More so the two front. (Rear steer) Even if they arn't worth anything to you because they are a bit much. I will be willing to bet that if you picked them up you wouldn't have them for long before someone wanted them from you.

There's a good chance they are front loading and not top loading too. Not much demand for them as you can't shave the housing for more clearance.
