dual batterys

Hi

I am trying to gather information on how I can create a dual battery set up on my own. Has any of yu ever done it. I am only trying to get more cold cranking amps into my 4.3l chevy in my CJ5. I also run an electric fan. If you have any ideas or if you can e-mail or post a wiring diagram of one that you have done before I'd greatly appreciate.THANX

Look at this thread, it was active within the past few days. Also do a search and you'll find lots of info.

Re: dual batterys

More cold cranking amps is usually free. Just clean up the engine ground, connection to the starter and the battery terminals. Use star washers on all the bolt connections. I can't imagine why you'd need more CCA than a good battery can provide where you live.

That link is for an isolated second battery. Usually this is for running high draw accessories, winch or something, off the second battery and still having the main to start the engine.

Re: dual batterys

Sorry, my bad on misreading the original post. If however you were looking to do a dual battery setup like the one I linked to then I guess I didn't screw up too bad but CJ7Taz is right on the CCA issue.
