OT- Kentucky camping advice needed

Hey y'all,
I'm traveling to Kentucky next week and am looking for a place to camp for a few days. I live in GA and will be visiting my sister in Louisville. We're trying to find a good campground within 2-3 hrs of Louisville that has bathrooms, day hiking trails and tent sites. Anyone have any suggestions? We'd like something that shouldnt be too crowded if its possible. So far we're thinking about the natural bridge state park... won't be able to wheel this trip , we'll be in a big honkin dodge 2500, maybe next trip I can bring the jeep. Thanks

Andy

Re: OT- Kentucky camping advice needed

thanks, what's the best place around natural bridge? I'll be coming up 65 to Louisville for a day or two, then head out to wherever... I could travel 75 but it takes a little longer and I got caught in a speed trap last time I went through Knoxville so my memories of that place aren't fond. Any more ideas?

If you're comming up Interstate 65, You will be near Mammoth National Park. If you haven't seen it, it's worthwhile. It's always buzy at the cave, but the park is huge with lots of trails and solitude. But by all means, see the cave. Here's a couple of liks that may help. http://www.mammothcave.com/ http://www.nps.gov/maca/

I would follow Raduckal"s adcice. We used to spend allot of time at a campground near nat bridge but neither my wife or I could remember the name of it. Mamoth cave is nice, although I have never camped there.
