tailights/updated

round tailights seemed like a good idea to me. 9 bucks isn't so bad. before i cut, i checked to make sure they work. Now check this...with the ign. off and the lights off the stop light/ blinkers work. the tailights do not work at all. with the ign. on, same thing. now turn on the lights. nada. nothing works. i re grounded all tailight harness grounds to a cleaned part of the frame. i used the "blazer" recessed lights from Pep boys. 2 wires. green and black.
now im just swapping wires all over the place trying to get something to work. what a pain.

here's the story: painless wiring kit: rear harness. the drivers side tailght is dim when i turn the lights on. the passenger side however is super bright. When the lights are on, the D-side blinker barely blinks. The P-side blinker works fine. The reverse lights do not work at all. The front lights are ok. I regrounded everything pertaining to the rear harness, and rechecked all the connections.
Green to green (Stop /turn)
black to black to Ground
White/black to white/black(reverse)
and white to white. (power in)
Could an improper size bulb be the cause of these problems? BTW everything did work at one point, and has been working since november. Stumped.

Re: tailights/one side dimmer than other.no blinkers

Have you checked the sockets in the ligth buckets? They correode pretty easily and you'll lose the connection. If they are corroded, throw them away. $8 will get you a new one at parts stores, you could also take the opportunity to upgrade to flush mounted lights at that time - I paid $9 each for mine.

Sounds like a ground problem to me.
