Are York head plates interchangeable?

I have two York compressors. One has the flange connecters, the other the AN type. I'd like to swap the heads around. I've checked onboardair.com's and CCI's websites. Neither one addresses the issue. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks,

Re: Are York head plates interchangeable?

Yes, I've done it. Onboardair.com used to have downloaded copies of the York Manual that shows how to diassemble the head (though its very easy to figure out). I just undid my old York, made a new gasket using the old as a template and bolted it to the new body.

I've often wonder how hard it would be to bore a York out and make a bigger pump.....

Gosh!!!!! Higher output Yorks!!!! You've just created the next evolution in aftermarket add ons!!!

Let's see ...maybe get a stroker kit going for it ...perhaps some powder coating on the pistons to keep the heat on the compressor down ....some no gap or "Total Seal" rings .......the possibilities are endless

I can see it now ...everyone else has to rev their engines up to 2000+ rpm ...while you merely idle and your 35" tire fills quicker!!!

Now let's see how long it takes to see someone advertising the nextgen York in Peterson's
