Re: auto trans in a cj5

I have seen a few 5's with short talishaft Turbo 350 automatics in them. I'm not sure what all was entalied in the installation but I believe that they used parts from Advanced Adaptors so that may be a place to start looking.

Re: auto trans in a cj5

If you put a auto tranny in a CJ-5 you will have a really short rear drive shaft, which is why jeep didn'y offer an auto in a CJ-5

Re: auto trans in a cj5

It can be done. I once test drove a '72 CJ5 with an LT1 and an auto in it running on 32s. It drove like chit, so I didn't go back, but that due to the tires, not the tranny or engine.

Call Advance Adaptors.

Re: auto trans in a cj5

One of our club members runs a CJ5 with a 350 engine and a turbo 350 tranny. The fan sits just as close as he dares to the radiator and his rear driveline is the shortest I've ever seen. But it works!
