OT: \'76 CJ5 For Sale

A friend of mine has a nice '76 CJ5 for sale. It is a 304 (fresh rebuild) with a 3-speed and has many new parts.

Check out http://jeep.voodoobox.net for more information and pictures. He's asking $3500. It is located in near Knoxville, TN.

That is a beautiful Jeep. It looks like he has a lot of time in it. It is too bad that he is getting rid of it. I wish I had 3500 kicking around.

Re: OT: \'76 CJ5 For Sale

It is a real shame but he has other intrests (racing). It is the Jeep that got me interested in jeeps. His dad bought it new in 76 and sold it to his brother then bought it back. It has seen two paint jobs over the years and although it has a slight touch of rust in a spot or two, it is one of the most rust free examples I have seen (that age anyways). It has been garage kept as long as I have known him (1987) and he only puts about 100 miles a year on it. The motor was rebuilt by the best shop in our area for about $1300. He says less than 1000 on the rebuild and I am guessing more like 300-500 maybe. It is basically stock, and would make a great cruising driving Jeep for someone with a wheeler already (could be built but it is in damn nice shape to beat on in the woods).

If only this was up for sale when I bought my CJ. That Jeep looks awesome to say the least. It definately looks stock. Thats cool that it was all owned by the same family too.
