Re: Pics of my Jeep and Hummer UG Kit

You say thats a Hummer kit? What is it based off of? I saw one on the web that was created from an old suburban frame. The yellow hummer is cool, but I like the military humvee's better. But the CJ is the best of all. Nice hood.

The hummer is an Urban Gorilla built on a 1985 GMC suburban frame, 350 engine with 4:88 gearing and sm460 tranny.

All three look good to me! I looked into the hummer kits, but they were all for Chevy chasis that I found.....I had a '74 F250 that I was trying to rebody at the time. I have to agree though, the CJ7 was the best of the bunch!

If you don't mind me asking.. how much did that hummer conversion run you? I saw how much the kits were. Just wondering how much it was total. Your Jeep looks good too!

By the way.. I saw Plattsburg on your bio. I met a guy named Chris Demers this summer that was a Civil Engineer. He graduated a year or two ago. Thought you might know him.

I like the look of all three also, but that sure is a nice CJ. By chance have you ever had that hummer in Potsdam, I went to school there, and I swear I have seen your hummer on the road before.

I like the hummer pictures. How long did it take you to build it, and how much did it cost you. What size tires are you running.

Re: Pics of my Jeep and Hummer UG Kit

I have about 12K in the kit and 1 year (about 300 hours into it) 100% of the kit was done by hand in my garage with the exception of lenthening the rear driveshaft and balancing it, an dhaving the tinted glass cut. The interior is still getting completed. The outside is sprayed in durabak truck bed liner. Its actaully the same truck with a set of 39's from the side views and a set of 44's from the front view. I used to live in Potsdam-and yes-the hummer is from the Canton/Potsdam area! Its actually still there but will be making the move to southern CT with me. ~TIM~
