More 360 and exhaust questions

Just wondering what a nice quite muffler would be to run off the headers on my 360. Also what temp should the 360 be running at? I hooked up my stock gauge and stone cold it says 200 degrees, and then after a minute of being run it rises up to 240. thanks Mike

Re: More 360 and exhaust questions

A good muffler shop should be able to bend you an exhaust with some stock type mufflers if you want it quiet. Keep in mind that cats do a lot of the muffling, my buddy has a 351 in his bronco and straight pipes from the cats back and it's not really that loud.

Re: More 360 and exhaust questions

Hey how's it goin on the install. My gauge works just fine, the way its supposed to.I wander if you might have it grounded out somewhere or maby broke the sending unit. The exaust on mine is real quiet w/out cats.I dont know what muffler they are but they are real quiet.I put Hooker Competion muffs on my Izuzu 350 and they are real Queit too and flow real well on top of it.I think they run about 50 a piece through Summit. They are a heavy gauge steel too whitch is good for off roadin.Hope you get it all sewed up soon.I bet it will get up and go, at least it will if its any thing like the one I got.

These round mufflers I have sound real good with my 360 and don't take up much room. They are not straight through, there are two parallel pipes inside.
