Re: Custom dash...

I've seen a few write ups but don't know where they are. You can fairly easily replace the YJ dash with a CJ dash. The main catch is the defroster ducts. One option is to replace the windshield frame with a CJ one with the defroster in it. Another is to make some sort of defrost duct coming out of the top of the dash and aimed at the windshield. The latter is what one write up showed. If I can find some, I'll post them.

Re: Custom dash...

You can make a custom dash for almost any vehicle. Take down the old one and just either throw on a flat sheet of metal, or you can fab up some kind of fancy design. One annoyance will be the wiring. That will be the largest pain, but oh well. As for the defrost ducts, you can easily just change the route path of them to work with a different setup. It isn't that hard to do, just time consuming. GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Custom dash...

That is a super cool project to undertake. Those jeeps on those sights are Way cool. I am a YJ guy all the way, but there is somthing to be said about that beautiful CJ dash. What could be better than a CJ dash in a YJ. Great Idea, and let us know how it turns out.
