Chevy 327 questions

Well, I've had the sweet opportunity to rebuild a chevy 327 and put it in my 1980 CJ 7 (currently 258 I6) for FREE!!!!!!So if any one has done this or knows anything about this some information would be helpful! I need to know how I can make this work as far as drive line etc. Thanks!!!

Re: Chevy 327 questions

Not really any different from a 350 swap. The 327 and 350 share quite a few traits - like the block, bolt patterns, an so on. Do a search for "350 swap" "SBC swap", etc. You'll find the answers you need.

Re: Chevy 327 questions

The 68-69 blocks are the same as the 350's (4" bore). They are referred to as "large journal". The pre 68's had a smaller bore, and longer stroke, "small journal). More based off the 283. Outside, they are the same as most any other SBC. Heads will interchange, mounts, accessories, etc.
