Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

Has anyone istalled the twin stick shifter? Do you like it and how it works? Do you have to cut out the floor for install?

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

I made my own twin shifter, and it works great. It really comes in handy if you are running lockers. I didn't have to cut any out of the floor, just bent the lever where it worked the best.

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

I used Currie's on my D-300. I like it. I've got to carry a cheat sheet to know what range I am in ! I like the thought of if I brake a rear drive shaft, I can still crawl out in front wheel drive.

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

For those that have one.
True or false? Can you have front wheel drive high range only with the twin stick on a 300? I've heard no.

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

If you don't modify the D300, then correct you don't get Hi-range front only. You have to take a ball bearing (I know its called something else) out of the shift rail house that prevents you from putting the D300 into that range. You do get Low range front only, if desired. (same as the d20 twinstick shift pattern).

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

Thanks for all the info. I think I am going to attempt to build my own shifter. I hope it all works out.

Re: Twin Stick/Dana 300 Question

I like my Currie, works great. No cutting needed, I think they are < $100 now.
