Rotating D300

I've read a bit hear and there about guys rotating their Dana 300's to where it didn't really hang down at all but
was pretty much flush with the bottom of the frame. Anybody heard about this ? Any problems ?
Any info appreciated ...

Re: Rotating D300

I have 2 friends that have done this to their CJ's. Both have commented that they are happy & it supposedly helps with flat towing also. No problems, only benefits (aside from the bill). They refer to it as "clocking" the case.

Re: Rotating D300

I had mine clocked when the NV4500 tranny was installed. The shop, M.I.T. in El Cajon, Ca. redrilled the back ring on the adapter.
First they put the xfercase on with no bolts, then rotated it til the twinstick shifter hit the floorpan. They then rotated it back some for clear-
ance, marked the adapter and drilled it. I gained about 2 1/2" extra clearance. It's been that way for 2 years with no problems.
