Drop Pitman Arm

Anyone know of a easy inexpensive way to fix bumpsteer. I need a drop pitman but dont have the money to get one. I just spent all I had on masive jeep parts order. I was thinking of heating mine and bending it. Will this work? Thank you

Re: Drop Pitman Arm

NO!!!! Do not heat the pitman arm to bend it!!! It will weaken the metal if not cooled properly and could cause it to become brittle and break at the worst possible time.

A drop pitman arm should only cost around $50 (sometimes you can even find them cheaper on e-bay.)

Re: Drop Pitman Arm

Just talked to a friend about it. I didnt think of it weaking the metal. Thanks for the reply. When I thought about it, it was about 4am and I was exausted from putting everything on. I will just have to bite the bullet and get one. I hope it fixes the bump steer. I have a 2 1\4" shackle lift and 1" body lift. I think it will fix the problem. Thanks again

Re: Drop Pitman Arm

How did you rotate the axle to counteract the longer shackles rotating the axle?
