How to remove engine ? (pic)

here the current state of my 4.0 L swap :

I need to remove the engine from the donor vehicule.

Can I remove the engine/tranny/Tcase all at once considering that I stripped the whole front assembly ?

Where should I hook some straps/chains on the engine ?

What else should I be aware of ?

Thanks for your help !

This would be a piece of cake! Usually the lifting mounts are attached to the exhaust manifolds... chain up there.

As everythings so darned open... I'd do the whole drive train as a unit. I'd perhaps wrap a chain around the Transfer Case as soon as I could to help spread the load and balance the lift.

Hi Leve,

Are you saying that normally I should take the manifolds out and bolt some specials lifting mount there ?
Do you think I can wrap a chain around the manifolds without warping those ?
Thanks for your help !

Nope... normally the manifolds have a lifting plate attached. But if they did not that's where I'd attach a chain... perhaps to a bar running under the lenght of the manifolds. I don't think you're going to warp them lifting that way... Another way would be to remove an exhaust manifold bolt and attach a plate there via a new bolt. At least that's what I've done in the past....
