What Kind of CJ is this? PICS ARE HERE!!

Today when I was trying to find someone who could weld aluminum I found an old CJ behind a bunch of other old cars that seem to be just forgotten. I'm not sure how to identify the older CJ's. Its got a steel top and doors that cover just the driver and passenger. The back is open like a truck bed. The dash is pretty empty. Not as many guages and knobby's as my CJ-5. Although the doors frame looks the same. The lights on the back are all seperate. What I mean is the backup lights are not in the same housing as the tail lights like my CJ. I forgot to see where the gas cap was. Its got a lot of rust and the windshield looks like its close to rusting off. Next time I go over there I'll try to remember bringing a camera but I'm curious what it might be. It had a plow hooked up to it. My dad thinks I should make a cheap offer and save it until I can afford to make it cooler. I'm telling him I need to focus my money on getting my CJ-5 back on the road. Any thoughts?

Re: What Kind of CJ is this?

Come on guys, I know someone out there can help me narrow it down. Or at least be able to give me some tips of how to tell it apart from other older CJ's. Any websites that list specific features of each type. Thanks.

Do you have a 4wd hardware catalog yet?? Ha Ha.... it's got a guide in it... help you identify any cj. I believe it's on the website too. Try there!!

Re: What Kind of CJ is this?

Its not a CJ-8 because the wheelbase is too long, and I think that also rules out the CJ-6. Could it just be an old CJ-5 with a half hard top? I don't know how much the body style changed over the years for the CJ-5. The part of 4WD Hardware's site that helps ID Jeeps is being updated and I just requested a catalog. I guess I need to post some pics to get a better ID.

There's an ID section in the Chilton's manual.
