Header collector flange warp, cure on Trucks! ?

My 3-bolt header collector flanges are warped, so I blow out gaskets.
A buddy of mine told me they showed a cure on Trucks! a few weeks ago...
He said they showed a 3-piece flange, maybe 1/2 inch thick. Each end of each piece was drilled, then relieved on opposite sides for a flush overlap at each bolt hole.
He did not catch what company sold these.
Has anyone here seen/used these products?? Know where I can find them? A search on Summit and Jegs failed to turn them up. I sent an email to TNN, but I figure they won't answer.

It sounds like a good cure, which is just what I need before I do something I'll regret with the sawzall and welder...

Let me know if you have any info on these.

Re: Header collector flange warp, cure on Trucks! ?

I had the same problem, but another cure. When I pulled my exhuast to drop the bell housing and tranny a couple months ago i found a blown collector gasket and didn't have a spare. my buddy (who owned the shop we were in) grabbed this black sealer that he uses, basically Gasket in a tube. holds up to Super high temp. ran a bead, no more problems. Stuff comes in a pressurized can so it comes out like cheese whiz. Runs about $10 a bottle. DAMN good stuff! I use it on diffs, ccollectors, heads, anyting that needsa good seal.

Re: Gasket Sealer

Thanks for the input guys. I may go that way if I can't locate another fix.

Didn't anyone see this portion of Trucks! ? Maybe my buddy John is pullin my leg...
I've made a rough drawing of what I want, I'm going to talk to a couple machinist friends if no one here has a solution...

Re: Gasket Sealer

That's not the one he had, but I'm sure it's basically the same stuff. I'll See if I can fiind out what he uses. I'll be up at his shop Wed. working on the PS on the CJ.

Lynn I thought it was on Horsepower TV, not Trucks. Either way, I did see it and they looked like a great idea. Unfortunately they don't keep info about the products very long on their websites. It does seem though that they repeat the same shows quite often, so maybe you can catch it.

Thanks Snowtow. I'll check with a local speed shop, maybe they've heard of it.

If you can tell me the broadcast date, I can probably figure it out. Was this on Horsepower TV?

Later,

Re: Header collector flange warp, cure on Trucks! ?

Thanks Tom!
I'll check it out.

Meanwhile, a buddy on another board found a site with a slightly different solution:

www.headerbudy.com

It's now being marketed by www.jonesexhaust.com
(click on new products)

Sounds like there's a couple solutions out there...

Thanks for the input!!
