Power Tech I-6 engine

Going to buy a new 2003 jeep sport can anyone help me with this new engine is it any good? I'm in Japan right now so i have been out of the loop for almost two years now would apreciate anyhelp from the fellow jeepers. also they want 26 Gran for tghis thing is that a good price? Can't wait to get home and do some hard trailing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually... I dont think the engine is new at all....
the basic design on the I-6 that the 4.0 uses today is a direct decendant of the first AMC I-6's used at least as far back as 71. recent years have brought way better heads, fuel injection, and a lot better power, but the actual engine really isnt much different..
that said.. the 4.0 is a terrific engine in a jeep. the sport model is probably your best bang for the buck on new jeeps as well..
where in japan are you??

Chris, don't mind him, it's Wayne, he's in Okinawa.

Wayne, you better not pay $26,000 for a Jeep unless it's the Rubicon.

hm.. seems like we BUILT him a tj once already.........
if folks sell the first one i build them....i do NO wrenching from then on.
