Do the front tires wear faster than the rear tires?

I do not know. I am assuming the front tires because the engine is heavy and the rear tires do not carry much weight. I am unsure thou. I want to rotate the tires so that they would last longer.

Re: Do the front tires wear faster than the rear tires?

The fronts carry more weight, but the backs provide most of the driving effort, but then the fronts do most of the braking. On a Jeep it's probably a matter of driving style and conditions that determine which wears more. Mine seem to pretty much wear the same.

If you want all of your tires to wear out together, rotate them periodically. If you want to replace them two at a time, don't rotate them and you might get your wish.

The fronts wear faster beacuse of the steering; the outsides get worn. If you rotate regularly you can lessen this or make it even all around.
