What worked???

I know I'm a new guy around here, I read the boards for a couple of months before signing up, but I have noticed that almost no one post the outcome of there problems. It would be really nice if, when a problem is corrected, the orginator would post on the orginal thread what the corrective action was, especially those problems that were long an involved or very unusal. Re: What worked???

Actually, I'm pretty consistent on reporting back the fix to my problems, of which there have been many and am currently experiencing another.
Go back and do a search for all my posts and you'll find that I do reply back with "what worked".
Though I seem to be the exception rather than the rule.
And yes, I do agree that it would be helpful if people did reply back with the correction to their problem so we may all learn if we ever have a similar problem.

Re: What worked???

I disagree.... it seems to me that many folks post what worked for them... I know that I sdo.. even if means" I was stupid..again"
i had the worst knock in my new stroker... turned out to be the rods hitting the girdle... something i knew would happen.. people told me would happen.. and i forgot anyway.....
perhaps some folks are trying to be too proud to admint they did something dumb....

Re: What worked???

Very often even if the poster didn't post that his problem had been solved, when that poster reads of the same problem that some one else is now having they will post thier experiance to help the other guy out.

Yea Bret I really did, and I LOVE it. The torque of the 09 combined with the gears and lockers are great for go and the 4wh disc make it whoa. I have the 409 Crossed Flags emblem on the front quarter. When I driving around town and stopped at a light people will give it the once over. You can always tell the one that know what a 09 is, when they see the emblems their eyes light up, a big smile appears and the the same question I have a thousand times.
You REALLY gotta 409 in that thing???

Actually it not as much of a stuff job as you might think. The 09 is only a couple inches longer and wider the a SBC.
The 700r4 helps a little on the road but she no MPG leader thats for sure. I did build my own mounts, the rest is pretty much like installing any other engine thats not stock in a CJ. I do have some pictures but I have no way of posting them.
There are still 09's available, and reasonable is relative, and you have to be careful that you don't buy a worn out block that can't be rebuilt. If you really decide you want one let me know I can point you in the right directions so you don't get burned, but as I said resonable is relative.

Wow this got a little windy, sorry
